Desert Safari

The Cultural Village Foundation, Katara invites families and space enthusiasts to a series of exciting movie screenings at Al Thuraya Planetarium throughout May 2025. Held in Building 41 at Katara Cultural Village, the screenings feature a lineup of fascinating 2D and 3D films that explore the mysteries of space, astronomy, and the universe.
Screenings will take place twice a day, with the first show at 5:00 PM and the second show at 6:00 PM. Highlights include films such as The Universe, The Astronaut (3D), Travelling with Light, Space Oases (3D), Polaris (3D), and The Origin of the Universe. All age groups are welcome to attend, making this a perfect family-friendly event in Doha. Booking is available online only, with E-Tickets released one day before each show via the Katara website. Attendees are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes before the showtime for registration, as seats are limited.

Ultraleggera Exhibition at National Museum of Qatar

Ultraleggera is a major exhibition co-produced by Qatar Auto Museum (QAM), Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile (MAUTO) in Turin, and Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar).
Curated by VCUarts Qatar’s Simone Carena, Marzia Gandini, and Gautam Sen, the exhibition features sketches, prototypes, archival materials, and original models. It also includes cutting-edge 3D-printed installations by VCUarts Qatar students from the 2024 Moving Interiors with Marcello Gandini Masterclass, celebrating Gandini’s enduring impact on design.

Qatar_ Close to My Soul Exhibition at Mathaf (1)

Qatar: Close to My Soul is a powerful exhibition offering a poetic journey into the heart of Qatar’s past and present through its art. Curated by Fatima Mostafawi, this exhibition draws from the personal collection of Abdulla bin Ali Al Thani, showcasing artworks from the late 1960s onward. The exhibition is divided into three thematic sections. The first of these, O’mri Qatar, explores how artists draw inspiration from traditional architectural and natural landscape. The second, Dewdrops, features works portraying society, and the third, Boundless Expanse, presents various experiments in abstraction and hurruffiya, an art form incorporating Arabic letterforms.

The Creative Program for Kids & Teens by OneStop Workshop is kicking off at Lensbuddy Studio with exciting weekly workshops starting from 8th May. Held every Thursday at 7:00 PM, this engaging program invites boys and girls to explore their creativity through hands-on art sessions. Each week, participants will complete a unique craft project.

Wafa al-Hamad Sites of Imagination exhibition at Mathaf showcasing Qatari modern art

Wafa al-Hamad: Sites of Imagination is the first-ever museum exhibition exploring the remarkable 40-year career of Wafa al-Hamad (1964–2012), a Qatari artist, educator, and designer known for her fusion of Arabic calligraphy, abstraction, optical illusions, and dreamlike visuals. The exhibition presents a diverse range of her work including watercolor, oil painting, woodwork, digital art, and archival materials. It draws from Mathaf’s permanent collection along with special loans, providing a unique insight into both global and Gulf influences on modern Arab art.
