A rare celestial event dubbed the ‘smiley face’ alignment will appear in the early morning sky on Friday, 25 April.
The phenomenon involves a unique alignment of Venus, Saturn, and the crescent Moon, forming a pattern that resembles a tilted smiley face. In this sideways formation, the thin crescent Moon acts as the smile, with Venus representing the right eye and Saturn the left.
While such alignments aren’t unusual in astronomy, planetary conjunctions and massings occur from time to time, this particular setup offers a striking and photogenic configuration.
Skywatchers are encouraged to look up and enjoy the celestial spectacle, which will be visible with the naked eye just before sunrise.
