The Crescent Sighting Committee of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has officially confirmed that Wednesday, 18 February 2026, marks the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan 1447 AH.
As the holy month begins, Muslims in Qatar prepare for a period of fasting from dawn to sunset, spiritual reflection, increased prayer, and charitable activities. Ramadan is also a time for families and communities to come together, share meals, and engage in cultural and religious traditions that strengthen social bonds.
During this month, mosques and Islamic centers across the country will host daily Taraweeh prayers, Quranic recitations, and other devotional activities. Many community initiatives, including charity drives and iftar programs, are organized to support those in need and promote acts of kindness and generosity.
Ramadan remains a central part of Islamic life, combining personal devotion with communal engagement, emphasizing compassion, self-discipline, and reflection on spiritual values.
