Earthna Center for a Sustainable Future, a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), has announced the 10th edition of Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW), set to take place from November 1 to 8, 2025. This milestone edition will feature over 400 activities across the country, all focused on promoting sustainable lifestyles, innovation, and community engagement.
During a press conference at Education City, Earthna revealed that the initiative—organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC)—acts as a national platform uniting individuals, institutions, corporations, and civil society to strengthen sustainable practices, showcase innovative solutions, and encourage nationwide participation.
Dr. Gonzalo Castro de la Mata, Executive Director of Earthna, emphasized the growing impact of QSW:
“Qatar Sustainability Week has become an established national platform for fostering a culture of sustainability and enhancing community participation in protecting the environment and achieving sustainable development.”
This year’s edition will spotlight key themes such as the blue economy and ecosystem restoration, featuring family visits to mangrove forests and community-led initiatives. Highlights include the Youth Festival organized by Qatar Museums through Teen Hub at Al Bidda Park on November 1 and 8, as well as a Clean Plate Campaign by Qatar Foundation to raise awareness about food waste and responsible consumption.
Qatar University will also run a campus-wide sustainability awareness campaign, while Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art will host a collaborative artwork reflecting collective environmental consciousness. Public events will take place at The Pearl Island, with additional exhibitions and educational activities at major shopping malls.
Representing MECC, Youssef Al Awadi, Head of Environmental Sustainability, highlighted the ministry’s role in supporting the initiative and advancing the Qatar National Vision 2030. The ministry will conduct workshops, lectures, and educational programs, including work on the National Transparency Report.
From the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Rashid Ali Al Jaber Al Nuaimi announced 37 youth activities and 11 sports events, integrating sustainability into infrastructure, event management, and staff engagement.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Al Bushri, Assistant Secretary-General for Communication and Resource Development at the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), unveiled a humanitarian campaign—“One Million Sports Jerseys for Gaza”—developed in collaboration with Earthna. The initiative aims to collect one million jerseys to support families in Gaza, showcasing the intersection of humanitarian aid and sustainability.
Strategic partners, including Qatar Museums, Qetaifan Projects, and United Development Company (UDC), also reaffirmed their commitment to driving sustainable development through innovation and collaboration.
Now in its 10th year, Qatar Sustainability Week continues to serve as one of the nation’s leading community-driven initiatives, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030 and empowering individuals and organizations to take action for a more sustainable future.
