Qatar National Sports Day Guinness Record was officially achieved at Stadium 974 after the event entered the Guinness World Records for creating the world’s largest temporary sports arena.
The National Sports Day event, organized by the Ministry of Interior and the Internal Security Force “Lekhwiya,” in collaboration with Visit Qatar and Media City, reached a global milestone during the nationwide celebrations.
The temporary sports arena covered an impressive 113,169.68 square meters, significantly surpassing the minimum requirement of 4,025 square meters needed for record registration. The achievement was confirmed after meeting all standards and conditions set by Guinness World Records.
During a ceremony held as part of the National Sports Day events, Pravin Patel, representative of Guinness World Records, officially announced the approval of the new record.
The Guinness certificate was presented to Colonel Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Thani, Vice President of the Qatar Police Sports Federation, representing the Ministry of Interior and the Internal Security Force “Lekhwiya.”
The certificate was also received on behalf of Media City by CEO Hamad Omar Al Mannai and on behalf of Visit Qatar by Ahmed Hamad Al Binali, Director of Events and Festivals, in the presence of several officials and partners.
This milestone further highlights Qatar’s commitment to promoting sports, community engagement, and large-scale national celebrations.
