The Qatar Meteorology Department has announced the start of Al-Nathrah, a 13-day period beginning on August 11, 2026. It is considered the sixth star of summer and the final star marking the hottest part of the season.
Also known as Al-Kulaibin and associated with the constellation of Suhail, Al-Nathrah is traditionally linked with continued hot and humid weather in Qatar. Winds are expected to be mostly northerly during this period.
The department also notes that Suhail (Canopus) becomes visible around the middle of the period, when weather conditions begin to become slightly milder.
