Qatar Wins Three GCC e-Government Awards

The State of Qatar has been honored with three awards at the GCC e-Government Award 2025, held on Wednesday in Kuwait, recognizing its leadership in digital transformation and smart service development. The accolades highlight Qatar’s ongoing commitment to implementing innovative digital projects that enhance government services and promote a digitally inclusive society.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) received the Outstanding Project Award in the Best Government Competencies Building Initiative category for its “Qatar Digital Academy” initiative. This program raises awareness of emerging technologies and empowers all segments of society to actively participate in Qatar’s national digital transformation efforts. It marks a significant step in MCIT’s mission to foster a digital culture and advance digital inclusion across the country, aligned with the Digital Agenda 2030, which aims to create an integrated digital society with equal participation for individuals and institutions.

The Ministry of Social Development and Family also won the Outstanding Project Award in the Best Digital Inclusion Initiative category for its “Sokoon” application, which digitizes Sign Language to improve accessibility and inclusion. Additionally, the National Planning Council secured first place in the Open Data Initiative category for its “Qatar Open Data Platform,” further demonstrating the country’s commitment to transparency, innovation, and data-driven governance.

HE Minister of Information and Communications Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai highlighted that Qatar’s triple success at the GCC e-Government Award reflects the effectiveness of the national digital transformation strategy and reinforces the country’s pioneering role in advancing GCC digital integration.

This achievement strengthens Qatar’s reputation as a leader in digital government, driven by continuous investment in digital infrastructure, national talent, and regional collaboration in innovation and the digital economy.
