Qatar set to host T100 Triathlon World Championship Final from 2025 to 2029

Qatar has secured the rights to host the T100 Triathlon World Championship Final from 2025 to 2029, following a five-year partnership between Visit Qatar, the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO), World Triathlon, and the Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation.

The inaugural event is scheduled for December 11–13, 2025, in Doha. Athletes will compete in a 2km swim in the Arabian Gulf, followed by an 80km bike ride and an 18km run through Doha and Lusail, passing landmarks such as Lusail Stadium.

The T100 series, recognized as the Official World Championship Tour of Long-Distance Triathlon by World Triathlon, offers over $7 million in prize money. The series was launched last year by the PTO in conjunction with World Triathlon. American Taylor Knibb and Belgian Marten Van Riel were the first women’s and men’s champions, respectively, with the 2024 final held in Dubai.

This partnership underscores Qatar’s commitment to hosting world-class sporting events and aligns with its National Vision 2030, promoting health and wellness. The event will also feature amateur races, allowing enthusiasts to participate alongside professionals.

Hosting the T100 Triathlon World Championship Final enhances Qatar’s reputation as a premier sports destination, building on its legacy of organizing major events like the FIFA World Cup and the Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix.
