Qatar National Library Unveils Diverse Lineup of Events for June 2025

Qatar National Library (QNL) has announced an exciting and diverse lineup of events for June 2025, catering to all ages and interests—from historical exploration to creative workshops and career development opportunities.

June kicks off on the 1st with a two-day workshop, “Consulting British Historical Sources on Arab Gulf History: Focus on Post-Independence Records, 1968–1994.” Led by historian Anita Burdett, this in-depth session will guide participants on accessing and preserving historical collections. The workshop will include interactive exercises and focus on oral history best practices—ideal for researchers and heritage professionals.

Younger audiences can enjoy the Library’s beloved Storytime for Toddlers and Storytime for Children sessions.
Toddlers (ages 4 and under): June 1 & 29
Children (ages 7–14): June 2, 16 & 30
These interactive storytelling events are designed to nurture a love of reading through fun and engaging activities.

On June 3 and 17, children can participate in the “Make with Me” workshops, where they will explore creativity through hands-on craft-making and art activities.

For young adults, the Career Launchpad series offers practical support for entering the job market:
June 4: Job Search Strategies on LinkedIn
June 28: CV and Cover Letter Writing (with personalized feedback and resources)
June 30: Exploring Career Paths with Vault.com – a platform providing company reviews, rankings, and career guides.

A highlight for history and science enthusiasts will be the special lecture on June 18 exploring European scientific expeditions to the Arab world during the 18th and 19th centuries. The talk will focus on British traveler Richard Pococke, his writings, and his desert plant collection—offering fascinating insights into the region’s past.

All events are free, but registration is encouraged via the QNL website or mobile app.
