The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has announced the cancellation of the Qatar Football Festival 2026, which was scheduled to take place in Doha from March 26 to March 31.

The decision was made in coordination with UEFA and CONMEBOL. According to a statement released on Sunday, the planned program of events in Qatar will no longer take place as originally scheduled.

As a result, the highly anticipated Finalissima Qatar 2026 match between Argentina national football team and Spain national football team, which was set to be held at Lusail Stadium, will also no longer take place in Doha.

The LOC explained that the decision was made due to ongoing airspace disruptions and travel restrictions that continue to affect the ability of many fans, players, and officials to travel. In light of these challenges, all parties agreed that relocating the match at this time is the most appropriate course of action.

The Committee also expressed its appreciation for the opportunity to collaborate with UEFA and CONMEBOL and indicated that it looks forward to hosting events involving both organizations in Qatar in the future.

Fans who purchased tickets for the Qatar Football Festival will automatically receive full refunds to their original payment method. International fans who purchased travel packages through tour operators will be contacted directly regarding refund procedures.
