Qatar Auto Museum
Qatar Auto Museum is a new project that will bring Qatar’s car community under one roof and one mission: to drive culture forward and to inspire the next generation of innovators, designers, engineers, collectors and policymakers through a shared passion for cars.
Designed by the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), led by Pritzker Prize– winning architect Rem Koolhaas, the Qatar Auto Museum will be located along the Lusail Expressway between the 5/6 Park and Katara Cultural Village, in the former exhibition center building that hosted the first Qatar Motor Show in 2011.
The 30,000-square-meter (320,000-square-foot) museum will include permanent galleries and temporary galleries that explore the past, present and future of the automobile and its impact on global life and culture. They will spotlight the car as a proud marker of Qatar’s growth, a common thread between a diverse population, and a unifying vehicle of culture and innovation.
Other facilities will include an Edutainment Center that will house a “Made in Qatar” innovation lab, a Traffic Safety lab, a Mobility and Sustainable Energy lab, a Geekdom Qatar pop culture Center, and areas for children’s activities such as driving simulators and mini car mechanics, children’s driving zones and many more. The museum building will also include a Technology Hub, Classic cars Restoration Centre, Cars Customization and Redesign Centre, and the Museum’s Vault of Cars.

Art Mill Museum
The Art Mill Museum is Qatar’s future museum of international modern and contemporary art developed by Qatar Museums in Doha. Due to open in 2030, the museum will transform an industrial flour mill site on the Corniche, forming a triangle with the existing Museum of Islamic Art and the National Museum of Qatar.
In 2016, an international architecture competition awarded this architectural project to the Chilean studio ELEMENTAL, led by the Pritzker Prize-winning architect Alejandro Aravena. A public garden will be designed by VOGT Landscape Architects, led by Günther Vogt.
The Art Mill Museum will house exceptional collections started 40 years ago with multidisciplinary works of great diversity, dating from 1850 to the present. It will present painting, sculpture and photography, as well as architecture and design, films and film props, fashion, crafts, and much more. A pioneering institution in the non-Western world, it will represent the modern and contemporary arts of all regions of the globe on an equal basis, engaging local and international audiences alike through multiple narratives of art history. The site will also include a creative village.
