MOI Issues Safety Guidelines for Market and Mall Visitors During Alerts

The Ministry of Interior (Qatar) has issued safety guidelines for visitors to markets and shopping malls when receiving precautionary alerts through the National Warning System. The guidance stresses the importance of taking any alert messages or notifications seriously and complying with the instructions issued by authorities.

According to the ministry, visitors should remain calm and stay inside the building if they hear an explosion or receive a national alert message. People are advised to remain indoors and avoid panic until official instructions confirm that the situation is safe and the danger has passed.

The guidelines also recommend avoiding open areas and moving immediately to the nearest safe building when necessary. Visitors should stay away from windows and glass facades and are encouraged to familiarize themselves in advance with emergency exits and evacuation routes within malls and market facilities.

During evacuation, individuals should use stairs and designated emergency exits while avoiding elevators. The ministry also advises visitors to avoid pushing or overcrowding and to proceed in an organized manner toward safe areas.

The Ministry of Interior (Qatar) further urges the public to immediately report any suspicious object to security personnel and avoid approaching unidentified objects or fragments. Visitors are also advised not to photograph incidents or security procedures.

The ministry highlighted the importance of cooperating with private security personnel and following their instructions, as coordinated actions help ensure safety for everyone present during precautionary situations.
