MOEHE Issues Safety Guidelines Amid Dust Storm Forecast
Dust storm sweeping across Qatar desert, symbolizing weather advisory for schools

In light of weather forecasts predicting dusty conditions, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has issued an important safety advisory for schools, students, and parents in Qatar. The Ministry emphasizes the need to prioritize public safety and urges everyone to adhere to recommended health and safety precautions throughout the day.

Parents are encouraged to minimize outdoor activities for their children and ensure they follow safety measures. Schools are also advised to keep students indoors unless absolutely necessary.

Important Tips for Students During Sandstorms:

Protect Your Eyes: Wear sunglasses or protective eyewear when going outside to prevent irritation.

Wear a Mask: Always wear a face mask before stepping outdoors. If unavailable, use a clean tissue or cloth to cover your nose and mouth.

Stay Indoors at School: Once at school, students should remain inside and avoid unnecessary exposure.

Avoid Rubbing Your Eyes: If irritation occurs, wash eyes gently with clean water rather than rubbing them.

For Students with Asthma or Respiratory Conditions: Follow your physician’s guidance strictly.

Seek Help if Needed: If you feel dizzy or experience difficulty breathing, inform a teacher or school nurse immediately.
