The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has urged residents to make safety a priority this summer by following simple precautionary measures that can help prevent accidents and ensure a safe and enjoyable season.
The ministry highlighted that summer safety starts with simple steps, encouraging everyone to adopt safe practices at home, on the road, during travel, and while enjoying outdoor activities. According to the MoI, following safety guidelines every step of the way helps promote security and makes summer safer and more peaceful.
Before leaving home, residents are advised to check electrical connections, unplug unnecessary appliances, and repair any damaged electrical equipment to reduce the risk of hazards.
For those travelling by road, the ministry recommends inspecting vehicle tyres, the engine cooling system, and electrical wiring before setting off to help avoid roadside breakdowns, especially during the hot summer months.
Families travelling with children are reminded never to leave children unattended inside vehicles and to keep them within sight at all times in public places.
The Ministry of Interior also stressed the importance of water safety around swimming pools by ensuring children are constantly supervised, using life jackets when necessary, and allowing children to swim only in age-appropriate swimming areas.
To stay safe online, residents should verify the authenticity of travel offers and booking links before making any reservations and avoid sharing personal or banking information with untrusted sources.
Before travelling, the ministry also advises ensuring that official travel documents are valid and up to date. Many travel-related services and transactions can be completed conveniently through the Metrash app.
The Ministry of Interior encourages everyone to make safety part of their summer, noting that simple precautions can make a significant difference in protecting families and ensuring a safe holiday season.
