Garangao 2026 Events in Qatar for Kids and Families
Garangao The Pearl & Gewan Islands
Garangao is one of the most cherished mid-Ramadan traditions in Qatar and across the Gulf, celebrated on the 14th night of the holy month. On this special evening, children dress in colourful traditional attire, carry decorative bags, and visit homes and community spaces while singing classic Garangao songs in exchange for sweets and nuts. The celebration reflects values of generosity, gratitude, and community bonding, while introducing younger generations to Qatar’s rich cultural heritage in a joyful and interactive way.
