Free art workshops at Katara Arabian Horse Festival 2026 are drawing large crowds to Katara Corniche, offering families and children an interactive cultural experience inspired by the Arabian horse.
Held as part of the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival 2026, eight workshops are taking place alongside the festival’s main events. Designed for different age groups, the sessions focus on hands-on artistic activities that highlight the symbolism and heritage of the Arabian horse, a longstanding cultural emblem in the region.
Organizers explained that the initiative aims to combine creative expression with traditional values, giving participants the opportunity to engage with heritage in a practical and accessible way.
Maha Al Mughisib, who supervises one of the workshops, noted that the activities were carefully developed to reflect the festival’s broader message. She said Katara is offering a range of workshops suitable for all ages, all free of charge and connected to the theme of the Arabian horse. Some sessions target children aged five to 15 and above, with interactive activities designed to develop imagination and manual skills.
Sharifa Bilal, another workshop supervisor, highlighted the importance of direct participation. Children are encouraged to create their own artwork by hand, whether by shaping three-dimensional horse models or producing art inspired by the horse’s symbolism.
Activities include 3D horse model workshops, coloring sessions using child-safe materials for younger participants, and craft sessions with carefully selected simple materials suitable for various age groups.
Organizers stated that the workshops aim to strengthen young people’s appreciation of artistic and cultural traditions while reinforcing their connection to the Arabian horse. The initiative aligns with Katara’s broader vision of presenting culture in an open, interactive format accessible to all members of the community.
