The landmark exhibition Latinoamericano | Modern and Contemporary Art from the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (Malba) and Eduardo F. Costantini Collections is the first large-scale presentation of Latin American art in the WANA region.
On view at the National Museum of Qatar, the exhibition offers an expansive overview of the continent’s artistic production through works by key artists from 1900 to the present. This unique showcase is part of the Qatar Argentina and Chile 2025 Year of Culture.
Curated by Maria Amalia Garcia and Issa Al Shirawi, Latinoamericano poses the compelling question: How do you represent the diversity of a whole continent through a set of images? The exhibition is organized into five thematic sections and features more than 170 artworks, exploring Latin America’s shared natural landscapes, cultural plurality, urban growth, social tensions, and emancipatory artistic movements.
Expect to see paintings, photographs, films, sculptures, installations, textiles, and popular cultural references—each offering a window into the region’s identity and art historical narratives.
