Ektashif Uzbekistan Exhibition at Museum of Islamic Art
September 2, 2026 | 02:31 PM
Explore artworks created by Qatari artists following their journey through Uzbekistan, inspired by its rich Islamic heritage, traditional arts and iconic architecture. Ektashif Uzbekistan is the outcome of an educational trip organised by the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) in collaboration with Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). In previous years, artists have visited countries such as India, Turkey, Spain, and Morocco. These trips have given Qatari artists the opportunity to explore rich Islamic heritage and distinctive Islamic architecture. In 2025, the destination was Uzbekistan, where they visited the cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara, known for their traditional arts and unique Islamic architecture.
All the works in this exhibition are inspired by Uzbekistan. This visit enriched the artists’ experiences and opened new horizons in traditional Islamic art.
