The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has unveiled the Desert Park in Al Shahaniya, offering a fresh escape for nature lovers and families. During the opening ceremony, Jaber Al Jaber, Director of Al Shahaniya Municipality, highlighted that the park is part of the Ministry’s initiative to expand green spaces and recreational areas, providing the local community with much-needed outdoor leisure options.
A Unique Desert-Inspired Design
The park stands out with its creative design, shaped like a desert tree, and features a variety of native plants and wildlife. Visitors can explore the natural beauty of Qatar’s desert environment, with around eight species of animals adding to the park’s charm.

One of the park’s key goals is to educate children and students about Qatar’s rich desert heritage. It offers an up-close look at local plants and animals, fostering an appreciation for the environment and cultural identity. The municipality also plans to continue enhancing the area with more green spaces and parks to serve the growing community.
