The Ministry of Municipality, in cooperation with the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), inaugurated Al Thameed Park in Al Rayyan on Tuesday as part of the Qatar National Day celebrations.
This initiative aligns with the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to provide diverse green spaces that enhance residents’ quality of life while offering recreational outlets for families and the community.
Al Thameed Park spans an impressive 15,747 square meters, with 9,892 square meters dedicated to lush green spaces. It features 438 meters of pedestrian paths, 363 meters of bicycle paths, and 343 meters of jogging tracks, catering to fitness enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.
The park also boasts a 454-square-meter children’s play area, fitness facilities, 212 trees, and 1,054 shrubs forming a natural fence. Visitors can enjoy well-lit surroundings with 135 lighting units and convenient access with 29 parking spaces.
This project reflects Qatar’s commitment to sustainable development and urban greenery, aligning with the Qatar National Vision 2030. Al Thameed Park serves as a vibrant recreational space for the Al Rayyan community, blending natural beauty with modern facilities.
