Stay Alert, Cross Safely: MoI Shares Key Road Safety Tips for Pedestrians in Qatar

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has highlighted the importance of pedestrian safety, urging road users to follow designated pedestrian crossings and obey traffic signals. These guidelines aim to help prevent accidents and improve road safety by encouraging pedestrians to follow the appropriate safety measures when crossing roads.

Pedestrians are advised to use designated pedestrian crossings and wait for the green pedestrian signal before crossing the road. The Ministry also encourages the use of pedestrian bridges and underpasses wherever available, reminding pedestrians to use designated crossing facilities when moving from one side of the road to the other.

The Ministry further advises pedestrians to avoid using mobile phones while crossing roads, as well as to hold children’s hands when crossing. Pedestrians are also advised to refrain from running across roads and to follow the recommended safety guidelines when crossing.

The Ministry emphasised that pedestrian safety is a shared responsibility, requiring awareness and cooperation from both pedestrians and motorists. Following designated crossings, obeying traffic signals and observing pedestrian safety guidelines are important measures in supporting safer roads across Qatar.

Through these reminders, the Ministry of Interior reinforces the importance of responsible behaviour on the road and encourages pedestrians and motorists to contribute to improving road safety by following the established guidelines.
