September marks the beginning of autumn in Doha and is considered a transitional month between the summer and winter seasons, according to climate information from the Qatar Meteorology Department.

The month typically sees temperatures begin to ease gradually, while relative humidity increases. The daily mean temperature for September is 33.1°C, reflecting the generally warm conditions expected across Doha during the month.

According to the climate records, the lowest recorded temperature for September was 20.3°C, recorded in 1964. Meanwhile, the highest recorded temperature reached 46.2°C, recorded in 2001.

The Qatar Meteorology Department expects cloud cover to increase during September, with a chance of rain that may be accompanied by thunder at times, particularly during the afternoon.

Winds during the month are mainly expected to be easterly, ranging from light to moderate in speed.

September therefore represents a gradual transition in Doha’s weather, with temperatures becoming milder compared with the peak summer period, alongside increasing humidity, cloud activity and the possibility of thundery rain.
