Student Safety Guidelines for School Journeys in Qatar
Ministry of Interior student safety guidelines for school journeys

The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has reminded students and families about the importance of following safety guidelines when travelling to and from school, stressing that keeping students safe is a shared responsibility.

The ministry highlighted a number of simple safety measures that students should follow during their daily journeys, whether travelling by school bus or walking to and from school.

Students using school buses are advised to sit in their designated seats and fasten their seat belts throughout the journey. They should also wait until the bus comes to a complete stop before getting on or getting off.

For students walking or crossing roads, the MOI stressed the importance of paying attention to moving vehicles while crossing. Students waiting for a school bus should also stay away from the edge of the road and remain in a safe position while waiting.

The safety reminders come as a call for students, parents, drivers and the wider community to remain attentive and follow basic road and transport safety practices.

By following these guidelines, students can help make their journeys to and from school safer. The MOI emphasized that student safety is a shared responsibility, requiring everyone to play their part in protecting children during their daily school travel.
