The Ministry of Interior has urged parents to stay close to their children and help them choose age-appropriate electronic games.
The Ministry said that parents’ guidance and involvement in selecting appropriate video games can help promote the safety and security of children.
Dr. Ahmed Al Hammadi, Chair of Pediatric Medicine at Sidra Medicine, has also warned that excessive screen use can affect children’s sleep, concentration and emotional wellbeing, while reducing time for physical activity, creative play and face-to-face interaction.
From choosing appropriate games to setting healthy screen-time limits, a little guidance can help children enjoy gaming more safely and responsibly.
