Qatar Calendar Highlights Family Entertainment, Cultural Events and Sports This August

Qatar Tourism (QT) has unveiled the Qatar Calendar for August 2026, featuring a packed schedule of family-friendly activities, cultural experiences, exhibitions, and major international sporting events taking place across Qatar throughout the month.

The August programme brings together a diverse selection of events designed for citizens, residents, and visitors of all ages. Activities will be hosted at multiple venues across Doha and other parts of the country, offering a wide range of entertainment, educational experiences, and sporting competitions.

Families can continue enjoying several popular summer attractions, including the Go Ninja Summer Camp, which runs until August 27, and The Hangout at Msheireb Galleria in Msheireb Downtown Doha, welcoming visitors until August 15. The Dana Club Summer Camp 2026 also remains open through August 31, providing children with a variety of seasonal activities.

Shopping destinations across Qatar continue to host the Hala Summer Malls Activation, offering entertainment and experiences for visitors until September 30 as part of the country’s summer programme.

Sports enthusiasts can look forward to a busy calendar throughout the month. The Beat the Heat summer fitness race series continues at various locations until September 11, while the MOQ Fit Club at Mall of Qatar remains active until September 19.

On August 14, the Sports For All Federation Ladies Track Challenge 2026 will take place at the Aspire Indoor Track, encouraging women to participate in fitness and athletics.

Qatar will also welcome one of the year’s biggest youth sporting events when it hosts the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U17 World Championship 2026 from August 19 to 29. Basketball fans can also watch Qatar take on China in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers – Second Round on August 27 at Al-Gharafa Sports Club.

The sporting programme concludes the month with the inaugural Run the Dome 2026, taking place at Aspire Dome on August 28 and 29.

August’s cultural calendar also features a variety of exhibitions and creative workshops across Qatar’s museums. Qatar Museums continues presenting the exhibitions Countryside: A Place to Live, Not to Leave and A Sneak Peek at the Qatar Auto Museum Project at the National Museum of Qatar.

The Msheireb Museums Summer Program at Bin Jalmoud House continues until August 13, offering creative workshops and educational activities for children and families.

At the Museum of Islamic Art, participants can join the Diwani Calligraphy (Intermediate) workshop from August 2 to 5, exploring one of the most elegant forms of Arabic calligraphy. The museum is also hosting a children’s summer camp in collaboration with the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) from August 2 to 13, combining educational and awareness activities for young participants.

Meanwhile, the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum presents Museum Explorer from August 3 to 12, offering children and families an interactive journey through the museum’s collections.

With its blend of family entertainment, cultural experiences, exhibitions, and international sporting competitions, the Qatar Calendar for August 2026 offers a wide variety of activities for residents and visitors to enjoy throughout the month.
