Two Asian Elephants Welcome Visitors at Al Khor Park
Asian Elephants Arrive at Al Khor Park

The Ministry of Municipality has announced the arrival of two Asian elephants at Al Khor Park, marking a special addition to one of Qatar’s popular family destinations.

The elephants were gifted by the government and people of the Republic of Nepal, reflecting the strong bilateral ties and long-standing friendship between the two nations. The gesture highlights cooperation and cultural exchange between Qatar and Nepal.

The pair includes one male and one female elephant, both born at the Elephant Breeding and Training Center in Sauraha, located within Nepal’s Chitwan National Park. The female elephant, Rudra Kali, is seven years old and weighs approximately 1,200 kilograms, while the male, Khagendra Prasad, is six years old and weighs around 1,190 kilograms. Both elephants are dark grey in colour.

Visitors are invited to see the Asian elephants at Al Khor Park. Entry tickets can be booked through the Oun Application or via the Ministry of Municipality’s official website.
