Karwa introduces Qatar’s first autonomous RoboTaxi service under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport, representing a key advancement in smart, sustainable, and technology-led transportation aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.

The RoboTaxi service marks a major step forward in autonomous mobility, aiming to improve passenger safety, comfort, and operational efficiency through state-of-the-art self-driving systems. The service can be conveniently booked through the Karwa Taxi App, making autonomous travel accessible to all passengers.

Each RoboTaxi features an advanced integrated system consisting of eleven cameras, four radars, and four LiDAR sensors, delivering full 360-degree environmental awareness, accurate navigation, and continuous real-time obstacle detection.

To ensure reliability, the vehicles are supported by a built-in redundancy system that allows them to safely navigate to the nearest secure location should any operational issue occur.

All operational and passenger data generated by the RoboTaxi system are securely stored and processed within the State of Qatar, ensuring compliance with national data localization and cybersecurity regulations.

The service has been developed and tested in collaboration with leading global autonomous technology partners, combining international expertise with local regulatory and operational requirements to ensure the highest safety and efficiency standards.

The launch highlights Karwa’s continued focus on innovation and its contribution to shaping the future of mobility in Qatar through advanced technology, sustainability, service excellence, and bookable smart transport solutions.
