The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by the Department of School and Student Affairs, organized a special event marking Children’s Day today at the Children’s Museum (OliOli) in Katara Cultural Village to mark World Children’s Day.
The event saw the participation of 70 students from four government schools, in partnership with the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Aman Social Protection and Rehabilitation Center.
The aim was to raise awareness among students and the community about child-related issues and to provide a supportive environment that guarantees children’s rights to protection, education, and well-being.
Assistant Director of the Department of School and Student Affairs Fatima Yousef Al Obaidly affirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting and empowering children, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, which places human development at the core of progress.
International Organizations Affairs Expert Fatima Al Ali stated on behalf of the National Commission that Qatar is committed to placing children at the heart of its educational and social policies, highlighting ongoing cooperation with partners to increase awareness of childhood issues.
Students presented a range of artistic and interactive activities, including theatrical scenes, an art exhibition, and choral performances, in addition to an awareness workshop on child protection and a discussion session in cooperation with UNICEF.
Aman Center contributed awareness messages on violence prevention and family support, while the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology provided educational content on digital ethics and online safety. The OliOli Children’s Museum offered an interactive learning environment that enhanced students’ play-based and exploratory learning skills.
The Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science emphasized that this participation reflects Qatar’s commitment to supporting and protecting children, while the Department of School and Student Affairs noted that educational events will continue to promote children’s awareness and empowerment in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030.
