Google Cloud Summit Showcases Qatar’s Advancements in Digital Transformation
Google Cloud Summit Doha 2025

Google Cloud hosted its second annual Google Cloud Summit in Doha under the patronage of HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, gathering over 1,500 industry leaders, developers, and IT professionals.

The event marked two years since the launch of the Google Cloud Doha region, highlighting its role in empowering local innovation. The Summit explored the latest in AI, data analytics, and cloud technologies, and featured strategic announcements in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) to further support Qatar’s digital transformation.

Key sessions focused on Qatar’s evolving tech ecosystem, digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and transformative cloud-based solutions. The event also emphasized Qatar’s alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Digital Agenda 2030.

Sami Al Shammari, Assistant Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Operations Affairs at MCIT, highlighted the impact of the partnership:

“Our collaboration with Google Cloud has served as a key enabler in Qatar’s journey toward a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy.”

He noted the partnership’s role in enhancing digital infrastructure, delivering secure government services, and developing a future-ready workforce through advanced technologies.

Ghassan Kosta, Regional General Manager of Google Cloud for Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and Iraq, remarked:

“Today’s Summit celebrates two years of our local cloud region and strong partnerships that continue to accelerate Qatar’s digital transformation.”

The event concluded by showcasing how leading Qatari organizations are utilizing Google Cloud to innovate and modernize services across sectors.
